Tyrsky is a catamaran unmanned surface vessel designed and built in Finland by Sub Marine Store. Two hulls, a flat working deck between them, and enough stability to keep a sensor pointing where you aimed it — for sonar and hydrographic survey, inspection, environmental monitoring and research.
Two separated hulls resist roll far better than a single hull of the same size. For sonar and survey work that stability is not a comfort feature — it is what keeps the data usable.
The span between the hulls is working space. Sonars, cameras, positioning hardware and their cabling go where the job needs them rather than where a moulded hull allows.
At 179 cm long and 137 cm wide, Tyrsky is a vessel two people carry to the water and fit in a car. No crane, no trailer, no slipway.
Tyrsky runs on two Blue Robotics motors with weedless propellers and differential-thrust steering. Choose M200 motors for efficient survey work, or M500 motors when you need more thrust for current, wind and heavier payloads.
Tyrsky uses the same proven electronics as the Blue Robotics BlueBoat and runs BlueOS, the open-source operating system used across the marine robotics community, with ArduRover for vehicle control. Plan missions in QGroundControl or Mission Planner: waypoints, click-to-navigate, position hold and return-to-home. No closed firmware, no vendor lock-in — and the sonars, cameras and positioning hardware common in this field already have documented paths onto the platform.
Let the site decide the link: Wi-Fi through the BaseStation for close-range work, a 4G/5G router for coastal and inland jobs, and Starlink Mini to go past line of sight and beyond mobile coverage.
Start with the motors, then add the BaseStation, communication links, RTK GPS, sonars and their mounting kits, lights, camera, batteries, charger and Ethernet switch below. Everything you select is added to the cart at once. Not sure what the job needs? Ask us — we build these vessels and use them in our own survey and inspection work.
Tyrsky is also available to rent, with or without an operator, so you can do a real job with it first. Contact us for a rental or a quote.
