The WetLink Penetrator JPT (short for Jacket Pass-Through) gives users the ability to route entire cables directly into a Watertight Enclosure without the need for stripping off the outer jacket. By utilizing a wider internal diameter than standard WetLink Penetrators, this is the perfect solution for coax cables and other specialized cables where the outer jacket is essential for functionality.
It isn’t just for cables, either! This penetrator works exceptionally well for routing rigid or flexible tubing into your enclosure, making it a great choice for buoyancy engines, water sampling systems, and custom pneumatics or fluidics.
Because this design allows the entire jacket to pass through without an internal physical step to brace against, extreme water pressure can push the outer jacket into the housing. As a result, the baseline depth rating for this penetrator is 100 meters.
However, when paired with the right cable jacket construction, much higher depth ratings of up to 950 meters are possible. Check out the Technical Details for the cables we’ve tested with the WLP JPT. Because of the variables at play, we highly recommend testing your specific cable or tubing configuration under real-world conditions to dial in your exact maximum safe depth.
For each unit, the following items are included for the selected cable diameter size and bulkhead size.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Depth Rating (without cable extrusion) | 100 msw / 328 ftsw @ 40°C |
| Maximum Depth ¹ | up to 950 msw / 3116 ftsw |
| Design Lifetime ² | 3 years or 500 cycles to rated depth |
| Reuse Recommendations (link) | |
| Bulkhead and Plug | reusable up to 3 times |
| Seal | not reusable |
| * For reference only. Performance may vary with application and cable construction. The user is responsible for verifying suitability for their application. ¹ Performance beyond 100 m depends on cable properties and operating conditions. Cable extrusion may occur at higher pressures. ² Design life was used to define accelerated test conditions and does not represent a warranty period. |

| ¹ Sustained high temperatures or current can lead to performance loss over long periods of time. ² After 300 cycles. Extrusion does not cause a leak. If left unmitigated, extrusion will continue with repeated dive cycles. |
